Now, you're probably wondering what the hell this is all about....
Well this all can about from the idea I'd seen on Instagram with Pizza boudoir. Next I knew, there were also a couple photographers start doing "Birthday boudoir", which included cake and balloons. Which is also an awesome idea!
I loved the idea so much, that I decided to organize a couple different photoshoots. One in my kitchen with Zoe (which would concentrate on flour as a prop), a cake one with Sylvia (we ended up using pizza as well haha) and a pizza one with Angelah... after all she is Pizza Mama.
The chick I originally got this idea from, operates under the name Illuminated Palette Photography. She creates some absolutely stunning images with gorgeous tones - adding a real "autumn" look to things. You can find the links to the inspo posts here...
I decided to offer a special photoshoot embracing the food boudoir...
It's essentially 2 photoshoots into 45 minutes. What we'll do is work on images with the cake, pizza or doughnuts in the bedroom and studio room. I don't do things by halves, so I try and set the scene as authentically as I can. In the kitchen I set up so it is like you are baking - bowls and ingredients strategically placed over the bench haha. I also love the dressing room look in the studio room... They'll look a little like this in the studio....
Or like this in the bedroom....
Everything is up to your own confidence and comfort level. Sylvia (brunette in the last five images, was comfortable with the implied nudity shots, which was an idea I presented to her before our photoshoot. She was actually wearing pasties for majority of the shots, but even with that, I do make sure to look away as the model or client moves into different poses. I want you to feel comfortable and I know not everyone is happy being full nude in-front of someone... even if they are another female. I want to respect the vulnerable situation you are putting yourself into, and that's why I look away and always ask permission before touching a client or model. I also ask permission before trying to rearrange of fix an outfit... or to place the food.
What these photoshoots include....
45 MINUTE PHOTOSHOOTS
ACCESS TO THE CLIENT WARDROBE
10 DIGITAL IMAGES
TWO PHOTOSHOOTS IN ONE - KITCHEN BAKING OR COOKING SET AND A STUDIO ROOM FOOD BOUDOIR (YOUR CHOICE OF PIZZA, DOUGHNUTS OR CUP-CAKES, OR EVEN FRUIT IF YOU REALLY WANT!)
The images generally are picked by the client right after the end of the photoshoot. We might sit around and have a chat and a cuppa while I quickly edit, or you may go away and come back at another arranged time for your reveal. I'll then do a more thorough edit and put your chosen images into an online, password-protected album which you may download from.
This is my second most favourite part - the client going through their images and choosing their favourites. It's so cool watching the smiles grow and people getting enthused about the images... loving how they look in them. It's a pretty good feeling to be completing my goal/mission - to help people feel more comfortable in their skin.
