To exist is to change, to change is to mature, to mature is to go on creating oneself endlessly.

Probably 90% of photographers will avoid this kind of light. At all times...

But I believe there is a way to utilize every kind of light you come across. Usually, I'd flick a bit of sheet over the curtain rail to diffuse the light during a session, but lately I've just been looking forward to working with it.

I've actually loved the mysterious and flirty element the light has added to the shoots. All the images in this session with the stunning Mia were shot in almost exactly the same light... or just slightly away from it. So you'll get to see a wide range of images you can get from your session in my master bedroom "studio".

I work out of my private residence, so you'll have access to not only the master bedroom, but another "studio room" (my beautiful dark grey room - for those extra moody and sexy images), as well as my kitchen!

Don't you just love the way Mia's tattoos really pop in that image?

This light is also a great way to emphasize your curves and put special highlight onto the areas of yourself you feel most comfortable with. Having conducted this experiment with myself and my partner, images like this were probably his ultimate favourites. With most men and women either preferring booty or bust/chest, I can use the light to really make those areas pop and look fantastic!

All it takes is a little contrast 😉

These are a few things I think about when planning and doing a photoshoot with a client or model. I do have a run through (or circuit as I like to call it) of my favourite and most reliable poses, but it always pays to do research and find out new ways of doing things. New ways of thinking about how I do my shots. New angles and different styles.

This is what Mia had to say about her boudoir experience...

I found working with you absolutely amazing! I felt extremely comfortable.
I think being a part of boudoir photography is very empowering for all women and it really makes you feel beautiful when seeing the final results!

Of course,

Everything is up to your own vibe and images you resonate with.

With my space, I can provide many different styles of images. The dreamy whites in the master (which you'll see in my food boudoir blog post), the dark and moody REAL sexy shots in the bedroom and studio room (I love me a nice silhouette!), images where we can work with the harsh light, or the beautiful soft, warm glow in the kitchen.

I show all my clients and models the back of the camera as we go, so if you aren't feeling something, we can switch things up and try something different!

I encourage both clients and models to go through and do their own research too. Now that Instagram has made "sensitive material" easier to view and find, it's a lot simpler to find work done by other boudoir photographers and see what kinds of light and poses you might actually really want to try out.

A boudoir experience is meant to be empowering... it can only be that way if it is all about you and who you are 😊
